Tube case:
Depending on the characteristics of the plant, we make the machine structure in 2 ways:
- Pressurised chamber construction: for machines with low headroom, compact and economical
- Snail feed structure: with decreasing snail feed manifold
Distributor:
The regulation of the amount of water entering the turbine is done through the distributor, which at the same time has the task of creating the water vortex inside the machine. The main construction features are:
- Movable stainless steel guide vanes
- Mechanical wedge-locking between shovel and arm with direction adjustment
- All moving parts slide on anti-friction material, thus ensuring a long service life
- 24 Vdc electric or hydraulic distributor movement actuator
Elica:
The propeller of the turbine impeller is the heart of the machine. We build all Kaplan impellers with blade movement in order to guarantee maximum centring of the performance curve.
Using the most modern technology available, such as three-dimensional design with fluid-dynamic study and continuous 5-axis milling, we are able to guarantee very high standards of construction. Some of the main construction features of Kaplan impellers that are part of our production standards are:
- Stainless steel impeller blades machined on a 5-axis continuous machine tool
- Double propeller-generator coupling with conical shrink disk and generator shaft face bolts
- S355 steel hub
- Bronze bushings with double seal (axial-radial) for moving vanes
- Handling of components on anti-friction material
- Mechanical shaft seal
Discharge:
The Kaplan turbine exhaust is mainly constructed in 2 different ways:
- Vertical cone discharge and diffuser: represents the best technical and economic construction. It is not too large, but requires an immersion chamber, which is often built underneath the turbine floor.
- Drain with deviation: this type of construction allows for easy construction of the building above.
